2006 & 2007 Snowmobile Club of the Year
Groomer
2008 brought about the decision to sell our existing groomer and purchase a new
one.
Our existing groomer was advertised for sale with Mistatim Snowpackers Inc.
showing an interest. The sale was finalized and Mistatim started
using the Massey tractor and drag to groom their trails in early January 2009.
With the decision to purchase the new groomer and drag, also came the decision
to become the Soucy Track distributor for Saskatchewan for snow related tracks.
A lot of research was done and it was felt the Soucy Track system provided the
traction and adaptability we needed to complete our groomer dream. The
income from the sale of these tracks would assist the Pasquia Snow Goers in
paying for the new groomer without having to pull additional money out of
our supporting communities.
Orders were placed and in early December 2008, the John Deere tractor
arrived in Melfort along with two sets of Soucy Tracks. This started the
task of removing the tractor tires and adding the Soucy Track system on our new
John Deere tractor as well as for the set of tracks we sold.
About the same time, Ken Haugo of Aylsham Welding was putting the finishing
touches to our new custom-made drag. Norm Enns and Dwight Thesen put their
years of grooming experience together to design what they feel is close to the
perfect drag with all the bells and whistles necessary to turn the task of
grooming from a chore into an enjoyable activity.
